The performances are part of a week-long effort to recognize the 3rd anniversary of hurricanes Katrina and Rita, and bring attention to the ongoing recovery of the Gulf Coast region. This performance will follow the opening of the Democrat National Convention on August 24 where the artists will perform for the official delegate welcome party and then a benefit at the Fillmore Auditorium hosted by Walter Isaacson, James Carville, Donna Brazile, John Laroquette and Harry Shearer. Then onto Republican National Convention on September 1st.
