New Orleans Tipitina’s Foundation Music Co-op
The Tipitina’s Foundation New Orleans Music Co-op is closed temporarily as we search for a new space. Meanwhile, the following...
Tipitina’s Music Office Co-Ops are statewide workforce development centers for musicians, filmmakers and other digital media workers in Louisiana. The New Orleans Music Co-op is thriving under the direction of our recently-installed Co-op Manager, Josh Miles. We have added several new programs for our musicians, including Apple Logic Pro X and Studio One, with Avid Pro Tools soon to be implemented. Also new at the co-op are “Eyeballs”, donated by Kaotica. The “Eyeballs” are placed over microphones to block out room reflections that may enter the microphone during audio recording. The “Eyeballs” help achieve a higher quality sound while recording. These are a great addition to our space and we thank Kaotica for their support.
On Wednesday, March 21, The New Orleans Co-op will present its latest workshop. “Press Kits and PR” will be covered from 1:30 – 4:30 p.m. at the Rosa F. Keller Library and Community Center, 4300 S Broad St, New Orleans. The Wednesday Workshops are professional development workshops presented by the Co-op every other Wednesday to music and art professionals and freelancers. All workshops are free to co-op members. Since January, we have hosted speakers covering basic recording, creating flyers and album art, copyright and publishing and social networking. Please contact Josh if you are interested in being a workshop presenter or would like to suggest a future topic, firstname.lastname@example.org.
With so much progress, we are excited to announce that the New Orleans Music Co-op will re-locate to a new upgraded facility on the Lakefront this summer. Until then, the Co-op office will be closed, but programming will continue. Be sure to follow us on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter so we can keep you posted on workshops and other events.
