Instruments A Comin’

Instruments A Comin’ increases youth participation throughout Louisiana by providing quality instruments to school music programs. Instruments A Comin’ is an ongoing program now in its fourteenth year and has placed more than $3.15 million worth of musical instruments in over 101 Louisiana school music programs.

Upon selecting a recipient school, Tipitina’s Foundation works closely with each band director, who is ultimately responsible for the success and improvement of the school’s music program. The Foundation plays a leading role in assisting band directors throughout the area by providing necessary resources to their schools.

Tipitina’s Uptown hosts an annual Instruments A Comin’ fundraising event; a benefit concert, auction, and cultural fair held on the first Monday night of the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival. We support as many New Orleans public and charter schools as possible with the proceeds of this event. The need for school instruments is extensive and the Foundation’s fundraising efforts continue year-round.

Tipitina’s Foundation is a proactive advocate for music programs in schools and we continue to take the lead in identifying and addressing areas of need.
